Okay. Maybe I’ll explain:

1. As you may know we’ve begun the very preliminary steps of casting, i.e. sending our script out to actors to see if they’re interested in the film. We’ve contacted a couple of stars already for different roles in the film, and are waiting back on them. At this time, we just want to see if they have even a little bit of interest in the script, and then all the pieces will start to come together. This can take a while though so don’t hold your breath! Stephen Fry has already agreed to a supporting role in “Clovis Dardentor” as has Annette Badland!

2. We’re talking to quite a few production companies regarding working on “Clovis Dardentor”. To get this film made and seen, we are keen to have it taken on by a company that can make it happen and increase the chances of distribution ten-fold! It’s a very exciting time as we are waiting back on some big leads! We’re also talking to quite a few potential investors. So watch this space!

3. Meanwhile, in BUYACREDIT.COM “Be A Movie Producer” land, after earning the support of Jude Law, Ian McKellen and Rowan Atkinson etc, we’re reaching out to more and more notable figures in the industry to ask them if they would consider ‘being a producer’ on “Clovis Dardentor”. Some very good responses so far from some very big names… but I can’t say anything yet!

4. Possibly most excitingly, John Magennis, the Hollywood TV Producer working on making a Reality TV Show following the making of “Clovis Dardentor” a reality (sorry), is talking to tonnes of people and getting the wheels in motion for the show. Some networks have already displayed an interest, so we’re excited to see where that goes!

… And that’s the run-down of what’s going on, what we’re waiting for and what we’re doing. Kapeesh?

Today I woke up at 5:00am PST to do a radio interview (ahhh, too early!) and I’m doing it again tomorrow. But after that I got to go back to sleep for a couple of hours. Then we started to get ready to go to NBC with Stephen Fry. He picked us up in his little green mini and we were on our way to the studio. An NBC show about movies had contacted us and asked us if Stephen would go on the show to talk about films, the industry and in particular, buyacredit.com and Clovis Dardentor. We set off from the Holiday Inn Express and just down the road to NBC. It was really nice to see Stephen again. He has been looking after us whilst we’ve been here in LA and has always been on the end of the phone in case of any problems .

He was very envious that yesterday we had walked down Santa Monica Blvd and got ourselves Miley Milkshakes from ‘Millions of Milkshakes’. Ben had found the place on the internet so we ventured through Hollywood to get to it. It’s a nice little shop that invites celebrities to come and make their own milkshakes. The Miley-Shake consisted of Cookie Dough, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and ice cream…YUM! It was sooooo good.

Anyway…I’m going off topic… When we got to NBC, someone showed us to the greenroom where Stephen got his make-up done. We met Carole Propp, one of the producers on the show who was very interested in what we were doing. Unfortunately, we were unable to go on the show as they have a ‘No under 25’s policy’. But who better to represent us than Stephen Fry?

Before long, Stephen was in the studio with Hollywood player Peter Guber, and the interview ran its course. It went really well and Stephen sung our praises . Afterwards, he had to dash off to an important lunch and one of the Production Assistants drove us back to our hotel.

Later on we just went down to Hollywood, finally found Kevin Spacey’s star (it had been covered up by the Red Carpet all week) and took some pictures with it! Can’t get them off the phone though!

Now we’re sitting in the hotel room and contemplating going to Bubba Gumps for dinner. Tonight is our last night here as tomorrow evening we are flying back to London. We have really enjoyed ourselves in Hollywood. It is an amazing place that is just constantly inspiring. Love it here.

NBC interview with Stephen Fry goes out soon but I’m not sure when exactly… I’ll let you know!

On Sunday, we watched Alice In Wonderland in 3D. It is a great film, and Stephen Fry (who plays the Chesire Cat in it) was very good. We highly recommend it. After that we made our way down to the Kodak Theatre to join the screaming mob at the Oscars. We weren’t expecting the security we encountered. Before we could even get within a 1/2 mile radius of the Red Carpet we were security checked, one by one. We managed to get a bit of a view through a heavily fenced off pavement and we saw some stars walk in. After a while we thought it would be better to watch on TV, so we went back to the hotel and watched the whole ceremony. It was good to watch it at a normal time and not at 4am (which is when we used to watch it in the UK). The right people won I think.

This morning we were back to work with an early start. Well, I got up early. Toby and Ben got to stay in bed!! Not fair! But anyway, I got up to do two radio interviews and there are some more this afternoon. There should be some newspaper articles coming out over the next few days, and then tomorrow we are going to NBC with Stephen Fry to record an interview for TV…so that should be fun!

We’ve been watching everything get set up. The red carpet is being rolled out and the massive Oscar statues are being put into place. It’s so cool being here at the same time as the Oscars!

Meanwhile, amongst all this stuff that doesn’t really sound like work, we’ve been sending our script out to more production companies and developing it to make it better and better. We’ve also been doing some interviews out here with US and UK newspapers and radio stations whilst setting up some meetings at some big studios with some great names! Next week, us and Stephen Fry have a meeting with a very big player in Hollywood, which we hope will be successful!

So there are a lot of things going on, and we’re constantly working out here to get things moving as quickly as possible.

What a Rollercoaster time we have had in Hollywood so far. We arrived last night, completely worn out from the two flights (NY>Philadelphia. Philadelphia>LAX). When we landed, we had to pick-up our tickets for the return journey. One got printed, and before the other two could, our Barlcaycard said “NO!” So after an irrate call to Barclays, we decided to call it a night and go to our hotel. We had booked into a cheap place in West Hollywood and were looking forward to going to sleep. But oh no. Oh no. Not knowing Hollywood we had booked somewhere that was really really…well…not nice. It was not the best first impression of Hollywood we had expected. So we sat in the room, trying to find an alternative hotel. Luckily we had only booked two nights at the motel so we were able to cancel our second night, just live with the first night and find a new place. That night we booked another hotel (The Holiday Inn) which is very nice and a far cry from where we were before. So we’re happy, comfortable and safe now. This morning we ventured out onto the Walk Of Fame on Hollywood Blvd. It is just so lovely and inspiring here. It is so warm too. I want to stay. We went along trying to see who we knew (on the stars) and who we didn’t. Before long we thought ‘right, we have to make our way to our new hotel’. But Hollywood is not a ‘walking’ place. It is just not done. Everyone drives; I know this might be hard to believe for our British readers, but there are even shops and restaurants that are ONLY drive-thru! Crazy! So we were about to try and get a taxi when Stephen Fry called. Out of sheer kindness, he came and dropped us off at the new hotel .

After checking in, it was time to meet John, a Reality TV Producer regarding a very exciting new prospect. He drove us down to a famous diner where we feasted on burgers, corn dogs and chips NO I mean fries. After the meeting we came back to the hotel and just a few minutes later we were off out with Stephen Fry. He showed us around the place. All very nice. After coffee and ice cream and a little drive around Beverley Hills he dropped us off back at the hotel and here we are now.

Soon we’ll get something to eat and then tomorrow we’re doing some filming with the TV Producer and perhaps some interviews. I’ll let you all know.

Well, I can now say that I’ve been to Philadelphia. Why you ask? Because we weren’t going to spend double for a direct flight to LA, of course! Plus, I’ve always wanted to go to Philadelphia. They do good cheese there. Hehe. Well, anyway, right now we’re in the Taxi on the way to Hollywood. Today was a long day of traveling. We’ve got an exciting week ahead of us. We’re meeting up with Stephen Fry, a TV Producer and a big Hollywood Movie Producer! To add to that, there are a lot more press bookings underway! Our AP story just keeps spreading and we’ve been getting lots of requests. This morning (if you were in Times Square) we were the idiots waving signs around saying “Be A Movie Producer” and a banner reading “JUDE LAW SAYS BUYACREDIT.COM”. A reporter and photographer from a NY paper met us there for some photos and an interview. It was a lot of fun and it’ll be great to see how the article turns out.

After that we were straight in a cab to the airport. Mind you, we had to find a Taxi Rank first. Last time we tried to hail a cab in New York it took 45 minutes. We’re just THAT bad at it. . Maybe the British are just too polite when it comes to striding into the middle of the road, shoving your hand in the air and shouting “TAXI!”.

We were at the airport soon after and in Philadelphia before we knew it. Very strange going on a 30 minute flight. Very strange. We did have to wait a while at the Philadelphia airport though, and the only entertainment was a webcam:

The flight to LA was looonnggg. Felt like we were going back home over the Atlantic. It’s funny how massive America is and how now, it feels like we’re in a totally different world. I don’t really know what to expect from Hollywood in daylight. We want to see the sign, the Walk of Fame and all that touristy stuff…but we’re told it’s a lot harder to get around than Manhattan and London.

Tomorrow there should be some more buycredit.com press coming out, and we should be meeting up with the TV Producer who has some very exciting propositions. It’s funny that the only person we know out here is Stephen Fry. He’s sort of looking after us . Fellow Britons in a foreign land.

Anyway…to the motel to sleep!

We found the Starbucks Dreamcake/bar after going into nearly every Starbucks in Manhattan. Yum yum yum. In this picture, Ben is blissfully unaware that he left his wallet in the shop. Of course the Marshmallow Dreamcake is far more important, but don’t worry, he got it back in the end with BOTH dollars inside!

Note the change of style – Ben bought a Trilby so now he looks very – um – what era is it? I’ve got a cap/thingy. Probably less fashionable but it keeps me dry. It is mainly because we both need haircuts and look silly without hats. Maybe we look silly with the hats as well?….hmmmm.

Annyyywaaayy. Enough of this aimless talk. I forgot to thank JUDE and STEPHEN publicly for their support. They have made this trip and this press possible, so we’re so so so so so so grateful. Three other people, without whom we would not be here are Phillip Schofield, Joanna Lumley and Lynda Bellingham who have financially sponsored the trip. But this is just the beginning. The AP article is just the start of the press campaign so we’re really looking forward to seeing what Monday brings.

It is so so exciting and it’s still spreading across the news . Hopefully more will come of it. We are planning to fly to LA sometime next week to see Stephen and to meet a TV producer out there. Maybe some press as well, who knows?

Right now we’re all sitting in the hotel room, watching TV, trying to relax and unwind. Me and Ben had a very very stressful morning. Let me explain; there’s a Starbucks cake here called a “Marshmallow Dreamcake” (sounds good doesn’t it?) well, anyway, we have made it our personal life-long mission to find this elusive cake. We saw it last time – and now it’s gone!!! How can there be so many Starbucks’ and so little Marshmallow Dreamcakes? .

Seeing as it is Saturday, we reckon we’ll do some touristy stuff. I’ll keep you informed RE the Dreamcake.

Jude has been very helpful in contributing his ideas and thoughts into the mix, and he’s really keen to see where the project goes; his exact words being “Let’s see how this goes, and we’ll see what I can do in the future and for the film itself.” :O. To kick-start us, he has filmed a producer support video for the project in which he fully endorses buyacredit.com! Yay! For someone who doesn’t put his name to many things, it is an absolute honour to think that he thinks highly enough of us and what we’re doing to make an exception.

We’re really looking forward to seeing what the World makes of the project now that we’ve got a movie star endorsing it! This is a really exciting new time for BUYACREDIT.COM.
