Wow. Now this is fantastic news! A double whamy of movie star supporters. One of the foremost female screen actors in the world today, Whoopi Goldberg, and the legendary British actor Jeremy Irons are now producers on BUYACREDIT.COM. Both these cinema icons boast an Academy Award for Best Actor/Actress in a Leading Role and their names are well and truly known throughout the world.

But I don’t need to tell you this, do I?

I first wriggled my way into contact with Whoopi a month or so, and her business partner, Tom (who must be one of the nicest people in the world) really loved the project and so he told Whoopi about it. Before long, I found myself meeting the pair of them at the ABC Studios in New York. It was amazing!

But meeting them wasn’t without its hiccups: I walked into the studios to meet Whoopi after she finished recording “The View” and signed in with the receptionist. They sat me down on the side, and more and more people came over and sat next to me. After a while I went up and asked the receptionist when she was going to take me up to the studio and she said “In ten minutes, we’ll take you all up, get you in costume and then we start shooting the commercial at 1 o’ clock” – woh, woh woh. After telling her that I wasn’t an actor for the commerial, she scrambled for her notes and with a big ‘Ah, I see’ she took me upstairs. It was very funny. I wonder what commercial I could’ve been in if I’d just gone with the flow?

Anyway… what I really want to say is that meeting such a screen icon was absolutely amazing, and to know that she loved the idea and was giving us her full backing was just incredible. Thank you Whoopi! She even took the time to make a support video for us, recruiting YOU to be a Movie Producer. You can see this FOR THE FIRST TIME at the top of the post!

However, Whoopi’s not the only movie star to sign up recently… The incomparable Jeremy Irons has also given us his full support. We haven’t yet had the privelege of meeting him, but we’ve been in constant contact with his lovely assistant, Katy, who has been filling Jeremy in on our progress. Just a few days ago, Jeremy told us that we had his full support in making “Clovis Dardentor” and following through on the BUYACREDIT.COM project.

It’s an unbeatable feeling to know that such BIG stars back us in what we’re doing. Jude Law, Sir Ian McKellen, Jeremy Irons, Whoopi Goldberg, Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Phillip Schofield, Joanna Lumley… AH, there are too many!

If you’d told me last year that this was going to happen, I would’ve laughed in your face (sorry; I just would’ve).

Meanwhile, things are progressing well with the TV show and production for the film. All still a bit ‘behind-the-scenes’ on that end of things but I’ll tell you stuff when I can!

Well, I can now say that I’ve been to Philadelphia. Why you ask? Because we weren’t going to spend double for a direct flight to LA, of course! Plus, I’ve always wanted to go to Philadelphia. They do good cheese there. Hehe. Well, anyway, right now we’re in the Taxi on the way to Hollywood. Today was a long day of traveling. We’ve got an exciting week ahead of us. We’re meeting up with Stephen Fry, a TV Producer and a big Hollywood Movie Producer! To add to that, there are a lot more press bookings underway! Our AP story just keeps spreading and we’ve been getting lots of requests. This morning (if you were in Times Square) we were the idiots waving signs around saying “Be A Movie Producer” and a banner reading “JUDE LAW SAYS BUYACREDIT.COM”. A reporter and photographer from a NY paper met us there for some photos and an interview. It was a lot of fun and it’ll be great to see how the article turns out.

After that we were straight in a cab to the airport. Mind you, we had to find a Taxi Rank first. Last time we tried to hail a cab in New York it took 45 minutes. We’re just THAT bad at it. . Maybe the British are just too polite when it comes to striding into the middle of the road, shoving your hand in the air and shouting “TAXI!”.

We were at the airport soon after and in Philadelphia before we knew it. Very strange going on a 30 minute flight. Very strange. We did have to wait a while at the Philadelphia airport though, and the only entertainment was a webcam:

The flight to LA was looonnggg. Felt like we were going back home over the Atlantic. It’s funny how massive America is and how now, it feels like we’re in a totally different world. I don’t really know what to expect from Hollywood in daylight. We want to see the sign, the Walk of Fame and all that touristy stuff…but we’re told it’s a lot harder to get around than Manhattan and London.

Tomorrow there should be some more buycredit.com press coming out, and we should be meeting up with the TV Producer who has some very exciting propositions. It’s funny that the only person we know out here is Stephen Fry. He’s sort of looking after us . Fellow Britons in a foreign land.

Anyway…to the motel to sleep!

We contacted Rowan in 2009 asking him to take a look at the website. He wrote back, saying he loved the idea – and there was a cheque to prove it! Since then we’ve been writing to each other and he’s been a brilliant source of help and advice.
