Writing, Investments and Company Logo Credits...

November 12th
2008

10:30pm
Admittedly it has been a long time since i last posted a message...sorry about that! Over the past few weeks we've been working hard on finally choosing and securing a screen-writer...so watch this space and with any luck, we'll have a name in the next few weeks. Meanwhile we've been looking at alternate investment opportunities to fund the film's development stages (all funds from buyacredit.com are locked away in a vault and will only be spent when the film is greenlit as it were.) I'm very excited to tell you that as of next week we will be selling company credits; basically, you will be able to upload your logo onto the end credits of "Dardentor" for £10. You never know, it could be an amazing advertising opportunity! Anyway,  I promise to keep you posted more regularly in future! Goodnight.

The official site for "Dardentor" is now online; it's not quite finished, but online nonetheless! We are currently in pre-production on a short promo video for Dardentor; an extremely talented and upcoming recording artist is writing a song about 'Clovis Dardentor' as we speak. We are still looking at screenwriters and hope to choose one very soon. Meanwhile credit sales are going up, and all in all, the going's good!

Goodnight.

The process of picking a Screenwriter has begun...

September 8th
2008

9:30pm
Last night I sent out an Example Scene pack to all of our potential screenwriters. They now have in depth information on the story and characters, as well as outlines for two example scenes we have asked them to write. Hopefully we will start recieving completed scene scripts sometime over the next few weeks; and with any luck, there will be a clear favourite.
Credits selling and Writers writing...

August 28th
2008

10:30pm
It's nearly September and in about a week we will be sending out an example scene to all our potential screenwriters. With these scenes we will be able to see who best captures the essence of our vision, and accordingly select them to write the script. Credit sales are progressing at a healthy rate and everything is moving as planned...so all in all its been a good month!
Updated Storyboards and Potential Sceenwriters...

August 15th
2008

10:00pm
Heike Scharrer and Rob Finlay at Previsualisation Ltd. spent the beginning of this week polishing up our storyboards for presentation. Thanks very much for that! Also, we've had a good number of potential screenwriters emailing us! Many of them seem perfect for the role, so we plan to send an example scene to all of them so that we can fish out the best one. We have targeted all the major film education institutions in the United Kingdom, and they are sending the message out to all their young and talented graduates. So in the end, we should end up with a highly talented young writer!
Storyboards Complete...

August 10th
2008

9:00pm
On Friday, we drove up to Elstree FIlm Studios in the evening where the storyboards where in their finishing stages. Heike (Previsualisation's Storyboard Artist) was scanning in the last of the images after spending a good two weeks working tirelessly on them. After making some amendments, all 35 of the storyboard panels were complete by 9 0' clock. I took the time to compile some of these panels to give you a taste of the opening scene storyboard. You can find them here.

Goodnight all!

The storyboard artist is now drawing up thumbnails and we will meet her later on in the week to confirm that these are what we envisaged; then the full storyboard for the scene can be drawn out.
Best Wishes and Support From
Sir Cliff Richard...

July 22nd
2008

10:30am
Just a quick post to thank Sir Cliff Richard and his secretary, Gill Snow, for the lovely letter they sent back to us this week, which got to me this morning. Sir Cliff himself gave us his "very best wishes" for the project, as did Gill Snow. In return for this we'd like to offer them a credit each on the end of the film.

A Meeting At Elstree Studios...

July 16th
2008

6:45pm
Today we drove to Elstree Film Studios to meet with Robert Finlay, the director of previsualisation ltd, a pre-production company based at the studios. He shared with us a wealth of knowledge aswell as friendly advice to help us on our way. We plan to contact a friend of Robert's at 'Screen-East' who we hope will help us through the pre-production process with preliminary funding. Meanwhile, we are working systematically through our adaptation of 'Clovis Dardentor', and at the same time persuing our efforts in getting the buyacredit project recognised by the industry and the general public.

Still Working and
Still Waiting...

July 9th
2008

11:30pm
We have been working hard on the story and are tackling problems as they come. Characters are getting names (most of which are the same as in the book 'Clovis Dardentor') and ideas for the title are in the pipeline. We have discussed idea upon idea and could drink coffee for England---creatively, things are going well! However, we are still waiting for contacts to get back to us with their advice and support! Hopefully, in my next post, i will be able to tell you of the progression of buyacredit, and not just the storyline! Goodnight.
Working and Waiting...

June 28th
2008

8:00am
It has been a while since my last post, and we have progressed greatly in the development of the story. We are starting to assemble our adaptation in a compilation of scenes, and at the same time developing characters, themes and ideas whilst keeping reference to Jules Verne's novel. However, as the creative process is rocketing into motion, the fund-raising has taken a slight pause as we await replies and support from various contacts. Watch this space for more updates soon!

The First Step...

June 1st
2008

6:10pm
Its been a good few days-we are in the Herts Ad today! It is out until next friday. Its not a big article, and the newspaper  itself is only local; just being available to St. Albans, Harpenden and Radlett-Nonetheless, it is a start. To see the Herts Ad article, click here.

The press release was paid for today, so that should be going out very soon!

Once again, if you haven't bought a credit yet, please do so! It will only cost you £1, yet it will help us enormously!
Thanks.
The Project Begins...

May 20th
2008

10:00pm
It has been an eventful 15 days of creativity since I posted last.
Ever since the website's launch, all we have said is that our feature film will be loosely based on a relatively unknown Jules Verne novel. We knew the story, but we hadn’t read to book cover to cover. So the quest began to find one of the rarest Jules Verne books around. We ended up with the astonishing discovery that the book has not been published in English since its first release in 1897. The British Library had one copy, as did the national library of Scotland, the national library of Wales and also the university libraries of Oxbridge. Private copies were also on sale for around £2500/$5000. The British Library was clearly our only option. However, after visiting them we were told that we could not take out the book, nor read it at the library without going on a 'Library Usage' course. It ended up with us commisioning a photocopy to be made by the British Library. Although it cost us over £100, at least now we have the book at hand! The novel is 43rd in a collection named 'Voyages Extraordinaires'. The book (that is catergorised under the genre of 'adventure') was written and first published in 1896, in France. It was then translated into English and published in London the year after. However, since then, the story has become the sorry little book, sat at the bottom of the pile, gathering dust...almost forgotten entirely. Ideas are flowing fruitfully and the basis of the film is starting to come together.

On the fundraising side of things, we have sold quite a few credits (mostly to friends and family) but are eagerly anticipating the results of our press release that we sent out earlier today. Soon we should be popping up in local newspapers etc. (the first small step on a stairway to success) and the credit sales should go up substantially. All we can do for the moment is hope for the best-and keep on working!

If you haven’t bought a credit yet, please buy one and support our project!

Goodnight...and watch out for the next update!
Website up and running...

May 5th
2008

10:45am
After quite a few months of planning, the 'buyacredit' website is finally online! The website itself has taken a long time to build and the process has proved to be a maze of trial and error. With a domain, host and fully functional website, we are almost ready to begin. In a few weeks we aim to launch the ‘buyacredit’ project into the public eye, bit by bit. My name is Adrian Bliss, and i will be updating the news page whenever we have something to say!
